COLUMBUS, Ohio - The organization representing the interests and concerns of certified public accountants around Ohio has endorsed Democrat Michael Stinziano in his bid for the 25th Ohio House District.
The 22,000-member Ohio Society of CPAs believes Stinziano is the best candidate to represent the voters of the 25th District.
"The Screening Committee and the Society's Board believe you will be a positive influence in the Ohio General Assembly as our state struggles to overcome its economic challenges," organization leaders wrote in their endorsement letter.
"I am proud to be supported by the Ohio Society of CPAs," Stinziano said. " I will work to provide the leadership that will help businesses create good-paying jobs in our district, help foster an entrepreneurial spirit and provide workers the skills to succeed in a changing economy."
If elected, Stinziano will work with businesses to create legislation to provide an income tax credit for businesses that hire unemployed workers.
Stinziano will also work with the diverse neighborhoods in the 25th District to build job sector-specific hubs, aimed at giving each neighborhood a unique sector of the Central Ohio job market.
In addition, Stinziano said he will work towards preparing workers for the high paying, knowledge jobs of he future by promoting education in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields.
Because small business is an important sector of our local economy, Stinziano said, if elected, he will establish a Small Business advisory Council made up of small-business owners from throughout the district. The council would meet monthly after the election to advise Stinziano on issues that matter most to small business.
Other business-oriented organizations agree that Stinziano is the best candidate for job-creation and economic progress in the 25th House District.
The Ohio Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee and the National Federation of Independent Business have also endorsed Stinziano.
These organizations are among the growing and diverse coalition supporting Stinziano for state representative. That coalition includes organized labor, community groups and elected officials including Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman, Franklin County Commissioner John O'Grady and many others.
Stinziano, an associate with McTigue & McGinnis LLC, was formerly the director of the Franklin County Board of Elections, the second-largest voting jurisdiction in Ohio. Stinziano has also worked in the Legal Services Division of the Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner's office.
The 25th House District includes the Hilltop, Westgate, Franklinton, Merion Village, German Village, Victorian Village, Harrison West, Dennison Place and University District neighborhoods of Columbus as well as the Franklin Township, Lockbourne and Obetz areas of Franklin County. |
