SMART Local 24 endorses Stinziano for Auditor

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Sheet Metal Workers Local #24 (SMART Local #24), which represents thousands of sheet metal workers in 49 Ohio counties, has endorsed City Council President Pro Tem Michael Stinziano’s election to Franklin County Auditor.

It is just the latest endorsement Stinziano has received, adding to a growing list of community organizations and leaders who support his bid for Auditor.

“I am honored to have the support of our highly skilled sheet metal professionals who work hard every day making our communities better places to live and work. As Auditor I look forward to working together to create modern infrastructure that will protect Franklin County taxpayer dollars and deliver superior service to our residents,” Stinziano said.

Stinziano has worked tirelessly to find common-sense solutions that make Franklin County a great place to work and live. He has been recognized numerous times as Legislator of the Year, and in 2016 was named Citizen of the Year by Columbus Realtors.

He serves as Chair of Council’s Neighborhoods Committee, Technology Committee, and Public Utilities Committee and co-chairs Age-Friendly Columbus, the award-winning citywide initiative working to ensure that people of all ages and abilities can remain in their homes, live independently and maintain a high quality of life.

As County Auditor, he wants to build on his experiences by working in a bipartisan manner to protect and promote the interests of Franklin County residents.

SMART Local #24 is just the latest of an expanding list of groups that have endorsed Stinziano for Auditor, including: the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association- AFSCME Local 11, AFSCME Local 8 & Retiree Chapter 1184, Franklin County Adelante Democrats, Stonewall Democrats of Central Ohio, and Franklin County Young Democrats.

Stinziano resides in the University Community with his wife, Caroline, their two children, Cooper and Riley, and their two rescue pugs, Wrigley and Fenway.
